Together, we have etched the faces of politicians, statesmen, musicians, dancers, actors, filmmakers and just about anybody who has been a somebody.

However, we are getting ahead of my story. Let me start from the very beginning. I was born in the city of Kolkata in West Bengal, India on the 15th of June. Since my childhood days, I had a fascination for sketching as well as drawing cartoons

By the time I completed my graduation, I knew where I wanted to go. I enrolled for a five years diploma course in commercial art from the Indian College of Arts, Calcutta. While in the second year of college, I got an opportunity to draw illustrations & cartoons for the weekly supplement pages of one of the oldest newspaper in the country, which was situated just opposite my Art College.

This was how I started my journey into the field of professional art. Since then, I have dabbled in all forms of this medium, which has included cartoons, caricatures, illustrations, comics, portrait and even sculptures.

I moved to the national capital, New Delhi, India in 1990 for better prospects. I have now been a professional cartoonist & illustrator for over two decades. I have had my work published in a great number of leading and nationally distributed newspapers, magazines and publications such as: Jugantar, Aajkal, Dainik Vishwamitra; Cine Advance (Cine weekly), Ghare Bhaire, Parivartan, Khelar Aasar, Sukhanya, Mahangar, Sabjanta Majaru, Police File, Kishor Mon, Indian Express, Jansatta, Target; India Today (Hindi), Business Today, Amar Ujala, Karobar, Allied Publishers, Rupa, Harper Collins, NBT, The Times of India and many others.

I have also drawn more than 4000 portraits of national and international celebrities, most of which have appeared in the pages of The Times of India, the world’s largest circulated broadsheet daily, with which I am currently associated as an illustrator and cartoonist.

OTHER INTEREST: sculpture, paintings, photography, swimming, music, driving and cooking.

As you can see, my pencil and I have had a long and eventful journey-but neither of us have any inclination towards ageing – both of us are ready for newer challenges, newer conquests and newer grounds to explore. This website is our endeavour towards doing this and I hope that you like what you see in these pages.

But I have promises to keep,
And miles to go before I sleep,
And miles to go before I sleep.”
